How Many Checkups Does Kendall Need?

How many times a day does Griff need to check Kendall's heart?  And, that's all he does...listen to her heart!  You would think if he was really checking here, there would be some other kind of checkup..., a blood pressure check, a blood test, cat scan..something!  I had a liver transplant, for God's sake, and when I was released, I only had to return twice a week.  After two weeks, it was once every two weeks and then only once a month.  By this point, Kendall should only need to go back to the doctor every six months.  But she seems to start her day in the hospital, and end up there.

And, what's with this skulking around the Valley Inn?  Rooms in hotels and inns are not generally down the hall from the conference room where Kendall's meeting was supposedly being held.  She came as close to the truth as I've seen in a few months when she called herself Griff's girlfriend.

This storyline needs to move forward.  How many conversations do Ricky and Diane have to have?  Come on, we get it already.  Move forward.  These are not the most compelling characters, but maybe they could become so if the writers let them get past the conversations and move into some action.  Ricky had Griff beaten up...why did he stop there?  If he killed Zach, and Griff is standing in his way, why is Griff being spared?  And Ricky has been getting pretty angry at Diane..is it just a matter of time before he gets violent with her?

I've gotten the feeling that Ricky and Griff  could have known each other in the past.  There have been looks that passed between them of pure hatred, and then there have been the "knowing nods".  The writers should expand on this possibility and add a new dimension to the plot.  The timing of them both coming into Kendall's life after the plane crash and Zach's death is something to ponder.  Could they even be working together?  Or could Griff know about Ricky and be secretly investigating him?  Griff could even be keeping the secret that Zach is alive and trying to investigate the "killers" and his situation is getting complicated by the fact that he's falling in love with Kendall and she with him.  Oh the possibilities!

I like the Cara and Tad combo and hope they soapily fall for each other.  I do have a hard time imagining the love scenes as they are so good together as a comedy team.  But, love has to be based on something, and I don't mind watching their relationship evolve on the back,..well, middle, burner.

When did Amanda turn into a beeeatch?  She suddenly wakes up and decides to stop Cara from talking to Jake?  I would have done that from the beginning instead of trying to pretend that everything is hunky dory!  You want your ex-husband who is my current husband?  Girl, that's not happening.   I realize that Cara calling is like picking at a scab that won't heal, but Amanda's tone grated on even my nerves.  Its clear that she doesn't know which way to jump and things will go downhill with her and Jake unless she learns to make peace with the past.

And ohhhhhh the mess Jessie is in.  I'm surprised that Brot is such a willing accomplice, but I guess he needs someone.  When this blows up there won't be a person in the Valley that isn't touched.  Stay tuned....

ZACH BACK?

Susan Haskell was let go from One Life to Live.   Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?  Why was she let go?  Although AMC is my first love, and I record it every day, I watch One Life to Live if I'm home from work, and can generally keep up on the storyline.  I know that Marty Saybrooke has been involved in many storylines and has been a staple on the show.  I know that Susan Haskell who plays Marty is married to Thorsten Kaye who played Zach on AMC.  I also know that Thorsten Kaye did not make the move to LA when AMC moved because  his wife and family were based in New York and he did not want to uproot them or commute.

So, why was Susan fired?  We all know that Zach has been sorely missed on AMC, and speculation that he was not really killed in the plane crash is rampant among fans.  Elaborate plots and storylines about him faking his own death (yet again) to protect Kendall and the boys from the evil casino partners have been conceived and bantered about on the internet.  With Susan no longer tied to a job in New York, the path is open for the couple to relocate to LA, and Thorsten to resume his role as Zach.

Could ABC have devised a plot, worthy of any soap to bring Zack back?  Let's just hope that if there is a grand scheme afoot, it includes a new role for Susan on AMC.

The Great Baby Switch

OMG  A Baby Switch????  I admit, I didn't see this one coming.  Poor, blind, pregnant Angie goes into labor in a deserted house where she got married when she was a teenager, and  goes into labor and passes out during the delivery of her baby.  Or, is it labor?  The severe pain in her back would indicate that she has something more seriously wrong with her, and we wonder if she will be paralyzed, as well as blind, after the baby is born. With no help from his wife, the doctor, Jessie is left to deliver Ellie.  He's a cop; has he never had this kind of training?  But, at least he has sterile shoelaces to tie the cord with.  When he realizes that the baby isn't breathing, shouldn't his training kick in?  Aren't there things he could have done, like clear the airways?

I realize that it sounds like I don't approve of this story, but I actually do like it.  I think that if developed correctly we will see some award winning acting from Darnel Williams and Debbie Morgan. (As if we don't already get that)  I can't even imagine the horror that Jessie will be going through as he watches Angie bond with a baby girl that is not hers. Will he be able to bond with her? And because she can't see his reactions, the intensity of his pain can be shown to us, without her seeing it.  Who will he tell?  Brot knows, and this secret will eat him up from the inside out. Will he be able to keep it from Natalia?  Will Jessie tell Tad?  Frankie and Randi will know something is wrong, but will they guess what it is?  Withe all the possibilities I'm excited to see how this will unfold.
